Personality:
Steven Grant is an awkward fellow - a nice, sometimes bumbling but mostly harmless human being who also happens to have an encyclopedic knowledge of all things Ancient Egypt stored in the recesses of his mind ready to share at the drop of a hat. This, however, only makes up part of who Steven really is. He's a man who wears his heart on his sleeve, openly displaying a range of emotions where most tend to hold back before reeling it back in and apologizing whenever he gets a little too intense in more socially-acceptable situations. His childlike sense of wonder is always present in his sense of curiosity, brilliance shining through whenever he has a chance to nerd over his niche interests. At the same time, there's an innocence in the sincerity he possesses, especially when he's trying to figure out what's going on. But that usually leads others to think he's joking around when he isn't. He also has a tendency to talk at length to curb nervousness, to question the logic in an argument that doesn't make sense, or to keep himself from having a full-blown panic attack.

One would think someone like Steven would have many friends in his circle. Instead, his reality is a very lonely existence; no matter how much he tries, he finds himself desperately struggling when it comes to forming human connections. Most interactions with the relationships he has can barely hold water, there one minute and gone the next.

His supposed absentmindedness is partially a consequence of his dismal sleeping habits. Recent developments have him trying to stay awake and keeping his mind busy with reading or puzzle-solving until the next morning comes. This, however, doesn't help him very much when he discovers the discrepancies in his "daily" routines. Curiosity is a double-edged sword that catches onto the smaller details left behind, leading him to find out more than he originally bargained for.

To put it plainly, Steven Grant is a man who isn't well. Although he spends energy trying to be a normal, law-abiding citizen, he currently feels like he has been losing control over his life. And, to an extent, he has; what he has yet to understand is that he's permanently linked to a man named Marc Spector, an American mercenary who acts as the avatar for the Moon God, Khonshu. Obviously not a fan of the setup and the subsequent violence that come with it, Steven blames Marc for ruining everything he's been trying to hold together, continually fighting him to regain control of the physical body they both share.

It's a very normal, very human reaction to very unnatural circumstances. Although he's been promised he would get his life back after this one last mission, Steven has no choice but to spend time with this stranger, initially unwilling to participate in the events he now finds himself thrown into.


Abilities:

Problem-Solving: Give Steven a puzzle - any puzzle, any physical format - and he'll eventually figure it out. This also comes in handy in practical situations; with what he's retained from all of his research, he can pull from what he knows and apply it to whatever obstacle is placed before him. (At least it works when it's related to Ancient Egypt.)

Critical Thinking: While he has a good idea of what's right and what's wrong, he also has enough common sense to know when something or someone sounds completely insane. (Case in point: Arthur Harrow) And while openly making a counterargument may not be the smartest move Steven can make, he doesn't stand down once he's said it.

Brutal Honesty: For someone who's softer than Marc Spector on many levels, Steven doesn't pull his punches when it comes to commenting on...well. Everything. It's never really mean, though; sarcasm is inevitable, but he never holds back the truth of the matter or tries to hide anything if it's vital information that needs to be shared.

Fistycuffs: He doesn't like violence and everything is painful when his fist makes contact with someone's face. He may not be aware of it yet, but he can probably put up a fight as well as Marc can. For now, he's just Steven. (He'll get the hang of it. Eventually.)

Moon Mr. Knight: While Marc has the contract with Khonshu, Steven is just along for the ride. He's only recently discovered he can summon the suit, but it's more of a three-piece business suit than a classic superhero costume. Along with gaining the healing properties of the aforementioned suit, his version comes with a pair of truncheons. (*All of this, however, is currently inaccessible until we decide to canon update Marc and Steven. Same stuff said for Marc will also apply to Steven in terms of dampening the regeneration effects, etc.)
